Zipper Usage

  • We should not use Type 3 Zipper on thick fabrics weighing more than 400 grams per square meter. Otherwise, the slider-pull part may break or the zipper tooth may burst.
  • Before washing a product, be sure to close its zipper. If you wash while the zipper is open, the slider may get locked.
  • Before subjecting the zippers to processes such as dyeing, bleaching, grinding and sewing them on different colored fabrics, be sure to make a sample trial. Because the washing process and chemicals may have unexpected effects on the zipper. Depending on the type of chemicals used, zipper teeth may warp and rust.
  • After washing, wash the zippers thoroughly so that no chemicals remain on them. Otherwise, the strip may become thin and torn due to the chemicals in the washing water, or the teeth of the zippers may be damaged.
  • Store the materials in a moisture-free environment by placing paper between them. Otherwise, the zipper strip dye may stain the strip due to its reaction to some chemicals.
  • If you have a choice for light-coloured clothes, do not choose oxide-toothed zippers. Because the oxidation process is the process of darkening the metal. Naturally, these types of zippers have the ability to pollute the environment when washed.
  • Do not store zippers using rubber tape for a long time. Otherwise, the surface that remains under the rubber band for a long time may lose its color.
  • When sewing zippers on clothes, the fabric should not restrict the path through which the slider moves. Such a situation may cause the zipper to burst.
  • When ironing the clothes, be sure to close the zipper, cover it with a cloth and iron at the appropriate temperature. Otherwise, high heat may damage the teeth or cause the slider paint to fade.
  • Clothes should be put on and taken off after the zipper is completely opened. Otherwise, excessive load will be placed on the teeth, bottom stop or slider, which may cause damage to the zipper.
